OVERVIEW

In 2018, UTFR Shootout, UTFR's very own Formula SAE event relocated to Gamebridge. Powered by a Honda TRX 450 engine producing 45hp, UT18 exhibited impressive performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 130 km/h, and maintaining a lateral acceleration of 1.8g on a 50-ft skidpad. The hybrid steel tube frame chassis, reinforced with CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Panels), provided a sturdy yet lightweight foundation, weighing in at 390 lbs. Notably, the car boasted 50kg of downforce at 60 km/h, enhancing stability and cornering capabilities. The incorporation of 20 sensors around the car and Ohlins TTX25 Dampers with adjustable high and low-speed rebound and compression damping underscored the team's commitment to innovation and performance optimization.
